What to look for in unscented body soap
The best fragrance free body wash should be made from natural ingredients. Isn’t unscented body washes already made from natural ingredients?
No.
Sorry to say, that immaculate white unscented Dove body wash isn’t as natural as people think. They can’t deny that the lathering chemical is also used in detergent.
The soap hardening and cleansing ingredients they use are known to clog pores or dry out sensitive skin.
Unscented is not always natural.
That’s why we disclose the ingredients to all The Crown Choice body wash and all our beauty/health products.

While fragrances can give you a soothing and relaxing feel that carries you to a world of bliss with a sweet-smelling experience, hate to burst your bubble but if you have sensitive skin, fragrances are a big no for you.
If you’re one of the folks that suffer from redness, psoriasis, eczema, and acne, you may need to avoid artificial fragrances from your body wash that has no benefit other than to smell good.
Use an unscented body wash instead that is free from irritants and nourishes your skin with natural ingredients.
Why choose an unscented body wash?
There’s a number of reasons why you need to choose scentless body wash.
Primarily because fragrances make sensitive skin worse and if you have delicate skin fragrances are triggers that can cause irritation and itchiness, swelling, and redness.
This is true for all types of skin and even if you don’t see skin damages from using perfumed body wash doesn’t mean that it’s not there.
You might not see it on the skin surface but it’s slowly taking place every day.
Here are more cool reasons to make that shift using unscented body wash:
- It gently cleanses the skin without irritating delicate and stressed-out skin.
- It has added natural moisturizing ingredients. It also works wonderfully for all types of skin.
- It doesn’t have a strong smell that will react to your nose.
- Avoids clashing with the cologne or perfume you are wearing.
- It’s a great choice for people who don’t really want added scents to their bodies.
Even if the world is filled with sweet fruity smells and floral scents body washes, there are still unscented body wash for sensitive skin that can clean, moisturize and be gentle to your skin.
Know what’s on the label
Unfortunately, our nose may not have the ability to know whether the smell of a certain product comes from a natural source or an added “parfum” that may cause irritation.
For instance, some of the best-unscented body wash contains ingredients that have a pleasant smell that is innate to them like aloe vera, shea butter, vanilla, and coconut.
However, some have no smell at all because the fragrance was put to mask the odor of the real skincare ingredients that have undesirable scents. Surprisingly these fragrances are added so that the product won’t have any detectable scents.
How would you know if the product may cause irritation? It’s all in the label. The rule of thumb is you need to read what ingredients are on the label and if you cannot even pronounce what’s on the label then don’t even consider it.
